Formerly AIT staff, but now news broadcaster on NTA, Mrs Seun Olagunju has given birth.

On Tuesday, the 17th of September, 2013, the NTA star gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in New York.

According to sources, her husband, Rivers State FRSC commander, Dr Kayode Olagunju who recently turned 50 is the happiest man alive. The baby boy came after several years of hanging their boots and bidding child bearing farewell. The couple plan to throw a big christening party when they eventually arrive Nigeria.

Seun and Kayode Olagunju already have 3 lovely girls prior to this new addition.

Mrs Adebayo lost her only child, Mr Olubunmi Adedayo to untimely death on Tuesday.

Before his death, Mr Olubunmi was the CEO of his mother’s restaurant.

After a long time battle with heart disease that resulted in a form of complication, he was air-lifted to the United States of America on life support for treatment few days ago.

Mr. Olubunmi Adedayo is the Executive Director. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, United States of America. He also has a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in International Business from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona, also in the United States of America. He is an associate of Psychology of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA.

He worked with Credit Trust Bank in Chicago as Branch Manager and later rose to head the Control department. He worked in other organizations in the United States of America in the capacity of a Manager before returning to Nigeria to oversee the family business.

He's survived by his parents, wife and two kids. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

The 4-day saga at Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya is finally over. Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the nation a few hours ago, saying they have defeated the terrorists and arrested eleven of them. The president said three floors of the mall collapsed during clearing efforts and trapped some people. He said Kenyan forces killed 5 terrorists and are currently sweeping the mall for explosives.
He therefore declared declared three days of mourning.

It was noon on Saturday in Nairobi, Kenya, sixty-eight reportedly dead, at least 175 injured and about 30 held hostage as well as dozen gunmen in an upscale Nairobi mall. It continued till Sunday evening with sporadic gunshot and at least an explosion. 
The tragedy was personal to Kenya President, Uhuru Kenyatta as one of his nephews and fiancee were among the dead. He has however vouched to bring the group Al-Shabaab to book for their beastful act. But the group has vowed not to negotiate with Kenyan authorities, this they tweeted from the mall.
Thanks to our social medias,even the hospitals were not left out on Twitter as a secretary to the cabinet tweeted "Hospitals are appealing for more blood, the response is incredible but more is needed".

It is no news that Archbishop Kattey of Anglican Communion Church in the Niger Delta region who was kidnapped few weeks ago has been released.
The now free Reverend Ignatius Kattey has debunked claims by the Rivers State Police Command that it came to his rescue when he was kidnapped.  Archbishop Kattey, who is the Dean of the Nigerian Anglican Communion, disclosed this on Wednesday during a press briefing at Eleme, Rivers State saying:
“The police did not rescue me. They were not the ones who rescued my wife, Beatrice. I saw the police for the first time two days ago since the incident. I have heard the statements made by the Rivers PPRO. The police are telling lies. If you cannot trust the police again, then who can you trust? I told the Commissioner of Police and he has apologised. I know they made efforts but they did not rescue me and my wife. A helicopter flew over the area more than 500 times, but the boys (kidnappers) were smarter. They held me with them in a thick forest and no one could see me there.
On the day of my release (Saturday, Sepember14), they moved me and we trekked a number of kilometers till we got to a road. Then they gave me N200 and ordered me to walk to the direction where I could get a bike.
We thank God for His mercies because I wouldn’t even wish my enemy to go through that experience. I was not tortured. They fed me with fast food once a day, sometimes with boli. They tied and chained my legs, but one of them said you can’t chain this man. I slept on the ground. I was beaten by rain and mosquitoes like them for up to seven days. Iam an old man of 65 years. I had no choice than to stay and swim in the forest with them”.

A fighting hit the roof in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, a member of the House  from Bayelsa State, Mr. Henry Ofongo, was punched and shoved repeatedly by his colleagues for daring to  oppose  the visit. His jacket was pulled off by some members when seven governors loyal to the New Peoples Democratic Party visited the House in Abuja.

Most of the members, who crowded Ofongo, were from Kano State, including Mr. Aminu Suleiman, Mr. Baballe Murktar, Mr. Ali Madakaki and Mr. Ado Dogoa. Mr. Dakuku Peterside and Andrew Uchendu, both from Rivers State, also shoved Ofongo, preventing him from moving close to the high table. One of the lawmakers, who lifted a chair but was prevented from throwing it, was Mr. Ini Udoka from Akwa Ibom State.

The governors in the New PDP that visited the lawmakers were Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto); Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano); Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers); Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Murtala Nyako (Adamawa); and Abdul-Fatai Ahmed (Kwara). They arrived the House in company with the National Chairman of the New PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje.

Alexis was formerly a petty officer 3rd class who served full-time in the naval reserve from 2007-11, said the US Navy. He received two routine medals for his service in the Navy: the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Alexis separated from the Navy reserves under what is called a general discharge, a status that suggests misconduct. It was not immediately clear why he left the military, but unnamed military officers told US media there had been a series of issues during his service.

According to media reports, Alexis was a Buddhist convert who had had two previous gun-related brushes with the law and also declared to have Anger management related issues.

In 2004 he was arrested in Seattle for shooting a construction worker's car tyres, in what he described as an enraged "black-out".

And he was questioned by Fort Worth police in 2010 after firing his gun through the floor of an upstairs apartment. He said it was an accidental discharge.

In addition to those killed in Monday's rampage, one police officer was shot in the legs, a female civilian was shot in the head and hand, and another woman was treated for a shoulder wound.

All three were expected to recover.

At the time of this report, both mother and child were said to have been stable but were left behind in Palmas for monitoring by medical personnel, while the flight continued on its journey to London, on An Arik Air flight with over 100 passengers on Sunday was forced to make an emergency landing in Palmas, Spain, as a woman went into labour and gave birth while the aircraft was airborne.

Normally, a source disclosed that in the few instances where women have given birth on board, the aircraft would continue its flight to its final destination. However, the Arik flight was forced to make an emergency landing following the advice of the doctors that the woman was bleeding excessively.

However, women with full term pregnancies are not allowed to travel by air, according to International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) regulations. As such, intending pregnant passengers are required to present medical reports certifying that they are less than 32 weeks pregnant before they are allowed to fly.

The girl claimed the pastor of her church, Rhema Ministries  in Oyeagu Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Rev Sampson Otisi allegedly lured her to a hotel, under the pretence of conducting deliverance for her but ended up raping her all through the night.

Ijeoma, who is said to have hearing problems hearing claimed she went to the church to seek prayers from the pastor so that she could hear loudly again.

A copy of medical report issued to her by the Chief Medical Officer of Enugu Ukwu General Hospital, Dr J.O Akuka which her parents showed to our reporter revealed that she sustained bruises, and a torn hymen. This showed that there was a penetration in her vagina

However, she said she was lured to the hotel and raped from 9 pm to the next morning and dumped in the hotel room, where she cried until hotel attendants rescued her.

Ijeoma who spoke at the Magistrate Court Abagana said she prayed all night reminding the pastor of the consequence of his act, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

She continued that, “After the session that day, he called me to the backyard and started praying for me. He poured anointing oil into my ear and mouth. He now ordered me to remove my dress and he poured some on my tummy and started massaging it. After sometime, he started putting his hand inside (Vagina), to which I objected. He said he will leave me if I do not want him to pray for me”.

“Even when blood was gushing out of me, he continued to push the ‘thing’ inside. I tried shouting but he covered my mouth, when I could not help myself, I started praying and telling him of the implication of what he was doing to me before God but he kept on”.

She said she was only freed the next morning when she regained consciousness and started banging the door of the hotel room asking for assistance. Ijeoma’s father pleaded with the relevant authorities to help her find justice for her innocent daughter who was violated by a man she trusted to be a Man of God, as the matter is currently before a Magistrate court in Abagana.

The pastor, Rev Otisi, who is the senior pastor of a branch of Rhema Church in Abagana refused to make comments when he was approached. His counsel, Barr CC Achi, however, said that the matter was only being engineered by unseen hands from behind as his client occupied a land that is in dispute.
