President Jonathan has ordered the immediate suspension of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi from the office of Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. He also ordered that the suspended Governor hand over to the most senior Deputy Governor of the Country's Apex Bank, Dr. Sarah Slade who will serve as acting Governor. This was due to haven taken special notice of reports on Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and other investigating bodies, it therefore indicated clearly that the suspended Governor's tenure has been ccharacterized by various acts of financial recklesness and misconduct which do not conform with the vision of the Apex Bank propelled by the core values, transparency as well as financial discipline.
The Federal Government reassures all stakeholders that this decision was in utmost good faith and in the best interest of Nigeria's Economy.
